Shoppers in your store place products into a shopping basket that collects and holds the items until they are ready to check out.
In your store settings you can set the length of the period of inactivity that defines when a basket is expired. The default is 60 minutes. To specify that time click the store name in the left navigation area then select the Settings tab and enter the desired time under Basket Timeout (Minutes). Note that this does not limit how long a customer can shop in your store only the time the basket remains available when there has been no activity (no products added or removed or quantities changed).
On the Delete Shopping Baskets screen specify which baskets are to be deleted and whether order numbers will be recovered.
Select Expired to clear out only the shopping baskets that have timed out – the ones that have been abandoned or forgotten. How often you delete expired baskets depends on your inventory levels and how busy your store is.
Select All to remove all shopping baskets. You would generally only do this when you need take your store down for maintenance. When you delete all baskets shoppers who are actively shopping will lose the items they were planning to purchase.
